I watch the children play with their dreams

Toss them around, as if there'll always be more

A chip there, a crack within

Is laughed off, like just another joke

I feel the stranger's unspoken joy

As she lets her baby's hand slip from hers

Yet, terrified of his inevitable pain

As his infallibility bleeds out. amidst salty tears

I read the words on the screen

The ones I've longed for years on end

But now they're here, I'm tied in knots

In my safety nets, drowning slow

I hear the voices whispering soft

Muted laughter, carried by the wind

Jumping into my blinkered life

My silence disrupted, my lone walk exposed...
